With business growing rapidly, Firefly is looking to hire an Estimator responsible for analyzing construction drawings and specifications to produce accurate quantity takeoffs and detailed cost estimates across multiple trades. Works closely with project teams and vendors to develop competitive budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support successful project execution.

Who is Firefly?
Responsibilities
- Review drawings, specifications and site conditions to develop detailed quantity takeoff across relevant trades
- Develop timely and detailed cost estimates
- Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors, suppliers and vendors
- Identify cost saving opportunities and prepare proposals
- Incorporate project specific risk assessments
- Be a team player with project managers and superintendents to refine estimates and project budget
- Maintain historical cost data and updates estimates based on market trends
- Presentation to management - addressing queries and revisions
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager and adhere to Firefly rules, regulations and policies
Must Have
- 5+ years of relevant estimating experience
- Expert with calculations and methods for developing quantity takeoffs and complete project cost estimates across all relevant trades
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, estimating software, file manipulation and storage
- Able to read and interpret construction drawings
- Knowledge of building codes, trade-specific cost and construction feasibility
- Highly detail oriented with strong math and analytical skills
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction related field or equivalent experience
